CP210x VCP Driver Installation Guide
In This Guide
we explain how to install the CP210x VCP driver, which is required to configure or receive data from GrowSpace UWB devices (Tags, Anchors, and Listeners) via USB connection to a PC. This manual covers why the driver is needed and provides step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing it.
What Is a USB to UART Driver?
GrowSpace devices communicate using serial communication. However, most modern PCs no longer have a built-in serial (RS-232) port, so they can't connect directly. To solve this, the device includes a USB to UART (serial conversion) module, which allows the PC to recognize the USB connection as a virtual COM port. The software required for this is the CP210x VCP driver.
What Is the CP210x VCP Driver?
The CP210x VCP (Virtual COM Port) driver allows a USB device to function like a serial (COM) port. It is required for communication between GrowSpace UWB devices and your PC. Once installed, the device will appear as a “COMx” port in your system.
※ If the driver is not installed, the device will not be recognized by the web setup tool or configuration software.
