Anchor Setup
Complete UWB Anchor Setup and Installation at Once
In This Guide
You'll learn how to use the GrowSpace UWB Web Console to set the PAN ID, coordinates, and role of each Anchor, and how to complete the physical installation to build an indoor RTLS (Real-Time Location System).
Before You Start
Hardware
GrowSpace UWB Tag
SpaceAnchor-A1
Windows PC
Windows 10 or later recommended
USB Cable
USB Type-A to Type-C
Software
GrowSpace Web Console
USB to UART Driver
Connecting the Anchor and Checking Recognition
Connect the UWB Anchor to your PC using a USB cable.

In the left sidebar, click “Anchor, Tag, Listener Setup Program” → “Web Program”.

The setup screen will appear.

Click the [Connect] button.
From the list of available COM ports, select the UWB device.

When the device information appears on the screen, the connection is complete.
What to Do If the Device Is Not Recognized
If the device is not connecting to your PC or doesn’t appear in the port list, please check the following steps:
Try using a different USB cable. In some cases, a faulty cable may prevent the device from being recognized properly.
Try connecting to a different USB port. Some ports may not work as expected, so switching ports can help.
Make sure the CP210x VCP driver is installed. This is especially important for Listener devices, which require the driver for proper port recognition.
If the driver is not installed yet, please refer to the guide below: → [CP210x VCP Driver Installation Guide]
PAN ID Setup
After connecting, enter the PAN ID value in the input field. Example:
0x0000

All Anchors in the same system must use the same PAN ID.
What is a PAN ID?
A unique ID used to identify each RTLS network
Only devices with the same PAN ID can communicate via UWB
Used to define a single RTLS group within a space
Set Coordinates and Role
Initiator Anchor
The Anchor used as the reference point for RTLS calculations
Only one Initiator must be set, and it serves as the Trigger signal sender within the system.
How to Set Up:
While the device is connected, check the Initiator checkbox to enable it.
Enter the X, Y, and Z coordinates based on actual measured distances (unit: mm).
Example: X:
15000
, Y:0
, Z:3000

Once all values are entered, click the [Save] button.
Then, connect the next Anchor and repeat the same steps.

Physically Install the Anchor
Example Installation Methods

Installation Tips
Secure the device firmly to prevent shaking or tilting
Avoid installing near materials that may interfere with signals, such as metal, glass, or pillars
Organize power and signal cables neatly for easier maintenance
After installation, always check signal reception and LED status
Connect Power and Check Operation
Prepare a USB Type-C adapter that supports the recommended voltage and current
Connect it to the Anchor's power port
Check the LED to confirm that the device is powered on
LED Status Table

Check PAN ID or Initiator settings
No LED
No power
Check cable or adapter connection

No LED

Green LED On
Final Check After Installation
Device Recognition
Make sure all Anchors are recognized correctly in the Web Console
Coordinate Input
Verify that X, Y, and Z coordinates are entered accurately
Initiator Setting
Confirm that only one Initiator is set
LED Status
Check that all devices are operating normally (green LED is on)
Position Response
Move the Tag and check if location data is being updated correctly
💻 You Can Also Use the Installation Program!
GrowSpace Anchors can be configured not only through the Web Console, but also using the dedicated setup program (GrowSpace Developer Tool). We recommend using the setup program for more advanced configuration or when working in an offline environment.
How to Install the Setup Program
On your PC, go to: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L76hj_xsFe_flzxv6n_Svr73HJntvUxe/view?pli=1
Installation file:
uwb_settings.exe

If a security warning appears, click [More info → Run anyway] to continue the installation.

After installation is complete, launch the program and connect the Anchor to begin configuration.
GrowSpace Anchors can be configured the same way using either the Web Console or the Setup Program. In the Setup Program, settings are managed through the screen shown below.

🧾 Main Setting Items
Type: Anchor → Check if the connected device is correctly recognized as an Anchor.
PAN ID Setting (top left) → All Anchors in the same system must use the same PAN ID. After entering the value, click [Save] to apply the setting.
Initiator Setting (center) → Enable the checkbox if this Anchor will act as the Initiator. Only one Initiator is allowed per system.
Position Coordinates (X / Y / Z) → Enter the Anchor’s actual installed position in millimeters. Example:
X: 2400, Y: 0, Z: 0
💡 Entering accurate position information improves the coordinate accuracy of Tags during operation.
