CP210x VCP Driver Installation Guide
To connect and configure GrowSpace UWB devices (Tags, Anchors, Listeners) to your PC via USB, or to receive data, you must install the CP210x VCP driver.
This guide explains how to download and install the driver step by step.
What is a USB to UART Driver?
GrowSpace devices communicate via serial connection.
However, most modern PCs no longer have built-in serial ports (RS-232), which means you can't use them right away.
To solve this, a USB to UART (serial conversion) module is built into the devices, allowing your PC to recognize the USB port as a COM port.
The required software for this is the CP210x VCP driver.
What is the CP210x VCP Driver?
The CP210x VCP (Virtual COM Port) driver allows USB devices to behave like serial (COM) ports.
It is essential for communication between GrowSpace UWB devices and your PC. Once installed, the device will be recognized as a port like "COMx".
⚠️ Without the driver, configuration tools and setup programs will not detect your device.
